Found this one and bought it - I figured it was a combo of everything, and thought that things would "hang" from it a little easier than the original #1. Thanks for all of the input! I'll take a pic once it has my little glittery shamrocks hanging from it! (how long do things take to ship from Canada, anyway...?)

or perhaps this one, that's 11". Maybe I could spray paint it black...

:

Missing: Two orange sippy cups. Any idea where they could be? If you find one, please, wash it before bringing it back. I'm sure it's sitting somewhere full of very chunky milk at this point.

Wanting: A great banana bread recipe. Again, I was disappointed in the lack of flavor, as I am every time I make the stuff. Any tips for me? What am I doing wrong?

Needing: A new mop. I broke another one today. Maybe I should stop buying those Clorox Mops - any recommendations?

Looking for: Something cute and St. Patrick's-y to hang on my front door.

Liking: The children's museum. Manda and I made two super cute tooth fairy pillows today for free! She's a good little sewer!

Frustrated with: Josh and his stubbornness with eating.

Wishing: That our house will magically just grow a few feet, in just a few places, and then be picked up by a tornado and carefully placed down in a neighborhood behind a gate. Along with the Robinson's house too, please. And their pool.

Wondering: If it's realistic, or feasible, for me to go get a "design" job.

Loving: Our DVR. How did I ever live without it??

Hating: Whomever bought my children their first ice cream out of the neighborhood ice cream truck.

Ignoring: Any and all politics. If I don't think at all about the stimulus bill, maybe it's really not happening.

Intrigued by: Half.com. I listed a few random books in the last couple of days and already sold one - simple as can be - imagine that!

Blown away by: Allison Iraheta. Gave me CHILLS. Danny and Adam might have a little run for their money as my "favorite" idol.

Planning to: Start putting veggie purees in our food, a la Jessica Seinfeld. Wish me luck.

Designing: A mini album for March's scrapbook night. I think it's going to be great! Who wants in??

Bored with: Blogging lately. Got nothin' much to say, sorry.

Conversation with Daddy

Over the weekend, Daddy and a certain 5-year-old were talking about her getting to go to the Malone's that night, for babysitting.

That little 5-yr-old starting complaining that so-and-so was mean, and didn't share toys. {She WOULD be the expert on such a subject, I guess}

Daddy asked her if she thought that SHE was mean sometimes, too.

"I don't know, what do you think, Daddy?"

"Well... I think sometimes you CAN be mean."

"THANKS!"

{As if he were giving her permission. The little stinker!}

"No, I'm just kidding, Daddy!"

{This girl is smarter than anyone gives her credit, methinks.}

Running away.

Anybody want an extra little 5-year-old to live at your house?

Because she doesn't like it here anymore.

Everyone is mean to her.

No one loves her. Josh won't even let her hold him.

She wants a new home.

She wants to run away.

She won't tell me where she's going, though.

And she doesn't want me anymore, either.

I'm mean to her,

and yell at her sometimes,

and even put her in time out sometimes.

So now,

she doesn't love me anymore.

And she wants a new mommy.

She won't tell me who,

but until she does,

I'll have to keep physically restraining her to stay in the house.

While she kicks, and hits, and screams, and pulls, and bites.

This is not an easy task.

We're both exhausted.

Aaaah, the sobbing just stopped.

Finally.

I'm so having ice cream tonight.

Say what - say what??

Gotta love the English language.

Last week, my 7-year-old got a note in tutoring informing her of an upcoming schedule change. Unfortunately, said note never made it home and said 7-yr-old couldn't remember what it said really, only something about the "12th" and the "17th". So, we didn't go early to tutoring last Thursday, or yesterday. Strange thing, though - this forgetful little girl ended up with tutoring homework in her backpack, which I noticed this morning. Conversation in the car went something like this: "Hey Allison, I saw your tutoring homework - does that mean we missed it yesterday??"

"YES - what does ree sum mean?"

"Can you please remember to bring notes home, so we don't miss it again?"

"What does ree sum mean?"

"Wha?? I don't know - how do you spell it?"

"R-E-S-U-M-E"

"Oh." No wonder we missed it. Tutoring must have RESUMED on the 17th. Funny.

Manda likes to sing songs, but she rarely gets all the words right. Today was her version of Baa Baa black sheep.

"Baa Baa black sheep, have you any more?
Yes sir, yes sir, three blacks more."

No matter how many times I tried to correct her, she sang it the same way...

Voo-doo

For the last few days, I've been coming into my craft room to find creations like these:

Those are straight pins, stuck into the back of my office chair. I was puzzled until I caught the guy red-handed:Look at the concentration! I'm telling you he is SO CAREFUL about this project. There is hardly a pin to be found on the floor. Why is it that this kid is drawn to tiny, potentially hazardous things? I'd say his three favorite items at the moment are 1)magnets 2)marbles and 3)these pins.I'm trying NOT to envision him as a seamstress someday. Maybe an acupuncturist? Or maybe he's just mapping out the solar system? Or even better, maybe he'll be a voo-doo doctor. How handy would THAT be to have in the family???!

Craftiness - paying it forward

This is from DEIRDRE, now I'm "Paying It Forward".

The deal-e-o:"Here's how it works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember that only the first 3 comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick!"I'll be waiting for your comments with bated breath to see who the lucky winners are....
